Chatham Fire Department Association
The Chatham Fire Department Association (CFDA) needs your help.
Since 1898, the Chatham Borough Volunteer Fire Department (CBVFD) has served as a model of volunteerism, proudly safeguarding Chatham by protecting life and property. For 126 years, residents like you have volunteered to continue the tradition of volunteer firefighting, which dates to the 1700s. Many in Chatham may know this, but fewer know CBVFD's affiliate fundraising arm, the Chatham Fire Department Association (CFDA), and its rolo in Chatham for 46 years.
In 1978, the Chatham Fire Department Association (CFDA) was founded to complement the CBVFD's efforts by organizing events aimed at cultivating a robust sense of community, thus contributing to the cherished and distinct Chatham identity we hold dear.
The key distinction between these two vital organizations lies in thier funding mechanisms: the funding CBVFD relies on an annual budget funded throughproperty taxes, whereas the CFDA depends on the generosity of our residents and the support of the small business community to underwrite its programs.
